JIMBO THE DRAG CLOWN
By VASCO + AMARRIEDCOUPLE
Dom vs. Sub channels the concept of identity reinvention in fashion. Jimbo The Drag Clown, embodies obscure contradictions through the art of drag. Who says he can’t be both a charitable punk and a faithful sex doll?
A story of conflicting personalities disconcerted with the tropey fight between good and evil, here, Jimbo’s alter egos work in tandem to accomplish a common goal: discovering art within the contrast of the contemporary and the obsolete, the fashionable and the campy.
Jimbo’s ego ‘Sub’ is a silky representation of the guilt ridden approach to sex. As one explores their sexuality, the sleazy ego ‘Dom’ liberates one’s prudish nature and evolves into what socially remains a remorseful kink. Sub is a historical sex doll from the 1970s, and Dom is a shameless modern dominatrix. Together, they become a symbol of one’s hidden desires and create a space where one is liberated from the constraints defined by the old and the new, the promiscuous and the prude.
