FALLING IN LOVE AT CAFE FORGOT
BUTTONS MADE OF CHOCOLATE AND MOVIE RECS APLENTY – VALENTINE’S DAY THE IT-GIRL WAY.

Café Forgot isn’t just a fashion crush, it’s a forever love match. CF is essentially the megachurch for indie designers, streamlined into the most shoppable, micro discovery zone; there’s always something to fall in love with, from garter skorts to hooded boleros.
What could be sweeter than a series of pop ups celebrating love, friendship, and baby tees? First up, P.S. by Pretty Sick, a long time sweetheart of CF. “We’ve known Sabrina of Pretty Sick since 2018. Café Forgot was a pop-up at that time and we had a month long store front in Tribeca and Sabrina modeled for the promotional materials. At that time she was still in high school and we just thought her music and her personal style was the coolest. Now we’re super excited to carry her own line and an exclusive baby tee specially for V-day,” shares co-founder Vita Haas. Next, CF presents jewelry designer Vesper Obscura, with “vases inspired by the jewelry designed by dot for Valentine’s Day flowers, and custom chocolates we created with Borough Chocolates,” says co-founder Lucy Weisner.
“The two of us have spent many Valentine's days together over the past 15 years,” says Haas. “Valentine’s Day is pretty much my favorite holiday. I love to celebrate love in any form whether that be romantic, filial, or familial,” Weisner shares, along with a few of her favorite Valentine’s films, “I love A Room With A View. It’s not about Valentine’s Day but it’s incredibly romantic. I also really love the Midsummer’s Night Dream film from 1999 with Michelle Pfeiffer and Stanley Tucci. Manhattan Murder Mystery is a comedic mystery that’s definitely romance vibes, highly recommend.” Haas highlights the creative element of the holiday, “I like to make fun cards for the people I love in my life. It's a great crafting holiday which is why I'm thrilled Café Forgot is now carrying the new Pretty Sick Ibuki sticker sheets. Definitely going to use them to decorate some Valentine’s.”
As an admirer, it’s sweet to watch the love story of the cofounders and the wider CF community. “A few years ago we curated a special V-day collection of very fancy dresses by Meg Beck, Zepherina and Sentimiento. There was lots of toile and lace involved and we had a romantic photoshoot at the cloisters to promote it,” says Haas. CF is truly a love letter to the fashion girlie who lives inside each of us, dressed as herself, sporting her heart on her printed mesh sleeve.
Of course, we had to know which brands Weisner and Haas are crushing on. Haas, “Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen. I just went to her show and the dresses were so beautiful. I would definitely want to get married in a piece by her.” Weisner, “My favorite denim brand ever and one that we carry at CF is Olga Basha. She makes the perfect jeans. We also just started carrying Weedslut which I’ve long been a fan of, she makes such cute bright lingerie. Also really excited about Nicklas Skovvgaard as well as the sunglasses brand, Thistles. I wear my pair of Als sunglasses everyday.”
