RAPID FIRE Q&A
Best film?
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or School of Rock
Best Tv show?
The Thick of It has got to be. Or Top of the Lake.
Best Song?
It’s winter and thus it is ‘Anything’ by Adrianne Lenker at the moment.
Best Album?
My favourite of this year was Flyte’s self-titled record that came out a couple months ago. It’s an instant classic. I’d say ‘Defender’ has become quickly one of my favourite songs of all time.
Best music video?
Surely Rock DJ by Robbie Williams.
Best moment?
The other evening I got back from being away on tour for almost a month and made bangers and mash (veggie sausages and mashed potatoes, for non-British viewers) and played chess in the pub. It was the closest I have come to heaven.
Best drinks reception?
I’m still a student at heart so any free drinks will taste great to me. If I had to go back to one free bar It would be the one at the BRITS afterparty this year. If I had to go back to a day AFTER any free bar it would be any day but the one after the BRITS afterparty.
Best takeaway?
Historically I am a fish and chips girl but recently it’s either Indian or Japanese. In London my access to takeaways is far too easy and quick and it has been life-altering in good and bad ways.
Best city you have performed in?
I played a show in Amsterdam the other day and am very in love with the city. It was one of my favourite shows I’ve played but also I could see myself living there for sure. I’ll also say Glasgow though because it’s one of the best places on earth in my opinion.
Best surprise?
Getting nominated for an Ivor Novello this year. That’s something quite beyond my imagination for my career. I felt like I’d won some sort of fan contest.
