MERDE: What’s your sign?
Lucy: I am 100% a Virgo! Respectable, hard-working, a lover of knowledge and know-how, responsible, a perfectionist, and in need of feeling appreciated. My sun is in the 5th house, so I am creative, competitive, fun-loving, generous, affectionate, and loyal.
MERDE: What does spirituality mean to you?
Lucy: Without spirituality, there would be no knowledge or science. Spirituality is the gut feeling, the trust, and our connection to Gaia. I don't believe in any specific religion, but I believe in energies and the universe.
MERDE: Who is your favourite artist right now?
Lucy: One of my absolute favorite artists is Alewya - her song "Spirit X" had a major impact on my latest productions and writing. My all-time favorites are, of course, mother Sevdaliza, FKA Twigs, and currently Biig Piig, and also Two Shell with their track "Ghosts."
MERDE: Who would you like to collaborate with in the future?
Lucy: With all of the above! And so many more, like Shygirl, Oklou, Yaeji, Sylvie Kreusch, Jim-E Stack, Weval, Caroline Polachek, Grimes... there are actually so many more! The world is full of crazy talent at the moment.
MERDE: How would you describe your day-to-day style compared to what you wear on stage?
Lucy: It's pretty similar to my stage looks, I would say - except that off-stage, I wear joggers more often haha. But otherwise, I would wear most of my day-to-day outfits on stage. Maximilian D'Antonio, my stylist, gets my daily ethereal-glam-grunge-boho aesthetic but adds that extra spark when I go on stage or for shoots, because he loves to see me glow even more - one thing I love about him x
MERDE: How would you describe your music?
Lucy: Totally unique, completely never been done before! Haha no, I would say it's mystical, fierce, soft, powerful, vulnerable, and sexy. In early summer 2023, the new era of Lucy Dye starts, and I am so excited for it!
Merde: What inspired your new songs?
Lucy: Dance Music, Drum and Bass, Garage, some of the above artists that I listen to, love, humanity, nature, Artificial Intelligence, and current aesthetics that cruise around the World Wide Web. I am very excited about two songs: "Love Robot" and "Holy Water" - two songs that could not be more different but form the perfect symbiosis - like Yin and Yang.
Merde: What is your latest obsession?
Lucy: I am not a very obsessive person; I lose interest very easily, so my obsessions are short-lived before I go to the next. I think I would call it excitement for things - my latest excitement was collecting shells and corals at the beach while I was traveling and creating jewellery out of them for hours. And creating the concept for my next releases.
